Little Beacon Rock (Summer 2014)

Distance: Take I-84 East to Cascade Locks and cross the Bridge Of The Gods ($2 toll). Go left on Highway 14 and drive until you reach Beacon Rock. Take the road right across from Beacon Rock and follow it to the parking area for Hamilton Mountain.

This hike starts out at the Hamilton Mountain Trailhead in Washington. Head up a wide forested trail that eventually opens up and takes you under powerlines. There is a junction with a bench. Take a left at the junction, this is the Hadley Trail. This trail starts out open and under the powerlines but quickly becomes forested. Follow the trail down to a junction that is marked for Little Beacon Rock. Take a left and head down Little Beacon Rock trail. You will soon be able to see Little Beacon Rock, follow the trail to the end and you will have a nice view of Beacon Rock down below.
