Curly Creek Falls & Miller Falls (Summer 2016)

Directions: Drive I-84 East to Cascade Locks and cross the Bridge Of The Gods ($2 toll). Take a right onto Highway 14 and drive for almost 6 miles where you will take a left onto Wind River Road. Follow Wind River Road up and over Old Man Pass, a couple miles after the pass take a left onto Curly Creek Road. Follow this road until you come to the junction with FR 90. Take a right onto FR 90, in about a mile take a left onto 9039 (there is a sign for Curly Creek Falls). Follow this road for over a half mile as you cross over the Lewis River and take a left at the sign for Curly Creek Falls.

From the parking area take the trail next to the bathroom. The trail is fairly wide and well maintained. You will quickly come to a split in the trail, go right and you will start hearing the first waterfall. There are a couple unofficial viewpoints before you come to the viewing platform. The waterfall is across a gorge but you get a pretty good view of it. Curly Creek Falls is unique because it has natural basalt arches that look like little bridges.

Keep going down the trail just a short distance and you will come to another viewing platform for Miller Falls. This waterfall is a little farther off in the distance and less impressive than Curly Creek Falls. But, it’s worth the extra minute of hiking to check out.
