Directions: Take I-84 East to the exit just past Cascade Locks that’s marked for a weigh station. Get on Frontage Rd and continue on and cross the tracks. Park near the gate.
We chose to walk around the perimeter of the peninsula first. There are great views of the Columbia River and mountains on the Washington side.
Towards the backside of the island there is a lot of logs in the water where Nutria and various water birds were hanging out.
Definitely walk up to the top of the rocks and check out the great views of the Gorge. There are lots of places to relax and have lunch.
This place is really good to just get out and explore. There’s lots of things to checkout and the views are great no matter what part of the island you’re on.
