Directions: Take Highway 26 West and get onto Highway 6. Take Highway 6 for about 52 miles to the town of Tillamook. From Tillamook go South on Highway 101 for a little over 7 miles. Take a left at a large sign for Munson Creek Falls Natural Site. Follow this road for about a mile and a half to a parking area at the trailhead.
We’ve been out of town for a bit, spent some time at the coast for Thanksgiving. We decided to squeeze in a quick hike since we don’t get out to the beach that often. This hike is short but it takes you to a very beautiful waterfall!
From the trailhead follow the wide and nicely graded trail as it winds along next to Munson Creek. You’re heading uphill but it’s nothing hard. The hike is very pretty with lots of heavily moss covered trees.
Soon the trail will have railing on the sides and you will start to get a glimpse of the waterfall. As you climb the last little bit the trail stops at a staircase that easily leads you back down to the creek. Just a short distance later you will come to the end of the trail which is a great viewpoint of Munson Creek Falls. The trail is gated off here due to heavy storm damage. This is an out and back trail.
