Directions: Take I-84 East to exit 28. Take a right at the stop sign onto the Historic Columbia River Highway. Follow the highway for almost two miles until you see the sign for the waterfall. There is a pullout on the side of the highway for parking.
Starting at the sign head down a few stairs onto a paved path. You will first see lower Shepperd’s Dell, there are a few places you can see it through the trees pretty well. Continue on and you’ll start to get good views of the bridge as you round a corner.
The trail ends at a nice viewing area of Upper Shepperd’s Dell. With less trees you can get better pictures of this part of the waterfall.
This really isn’t a hike, it’s just a quick walk and a great way to get out and stretch your legs. It’s also a great addition to nearby Gorge hikes like Angels Rest, Mist Falls, Fairy Falls, and Upper and Lower Latourell Falls.

Overall: This waterfall is often overlooked by people spending the day in the Gorge. It’s a short and easy walk, and definitely worth it!
