Directions: Head east on Highway 26 until you reach Road 39 (about 6 miles past the town of Zigzag). Head north on Road 39, the trailhead is at the very end of the road (about 2.5 miles from Highway 26).
This hike is short but it’s a great stop to add to other outdoor activities you may be doing in the area. It’s also a great option if you need to get out and stretch your legs if you’ve been driving for a while.
From the trailhead follow the dirt trail that stays right next to Little Zigzag Creek the whole time. You’ll pass under fallen trees and some slide areas but the trail is maintained and in good condition. After about a quarter mile the trail ends right at Little Zigzag Falls. There is a bench and plenty of places to relax and take in the waterfall. This is an out-and-back trail so turn around and head back the way you came.
